Jogos Panamericano

The Pan American Games 2011 was held in Guadalajara, Mexico, between 14 and 30 October. Also some more of the same events were held in nearby towns such as CiudadGuzmán, Puerto Vallarta, Lagos de Moreno and Tapalpa. The Pan American Gameswere the second largest multi-sport event of the year, with the participation of more than6,000 athletes from 41 nations in 36 sports. The first day of competition at the Pan was very good for Brazil, getting his first gold medal in swimming Thiago Pereira, as well as another silver and bronze medals in rhythmic gymnastics, modern pentathlon, taekwondo and swimming on their own. The highlight was also the premieres of Brazil and the UnitedStates Handball, with an overwhelming score 50 to 10 for Brazil. Already Volleyball, hadgood debuts from both countries, since the girls of Brazil and the U.S. won its first game in the group. Brazil won 48 Gold, 35 Silver and 58 Bronze medals totaling 141, whereuponthe second place of the Pan American Games
